Work through a homework session at home

When to use this goal

For students whose present levels and family reports show homework sessions that break down after a few minutes into phone, TV, or wandering. Use only when the family can keep a simple log and homework is at the independent level. Present levels decide the starting minutes.

Baseline
For one week, have the student or family write the start time and the time of the first long stop on a simple log. Compare a few logs with homework products to check they fit. In a homework club, staff can time directly.
Tips
Agree on the log format with the family; a photo of the timer or a one-line text can replace paper. Session length is the student's choice within the plan. The case manager reviews logs weekly and adjusts the session length.
Limits
Home logs are self-report and vary in reliability. Not every family can collect data; use the homework club version when needed. Does not measure homework accuracy.
