Combine facts from two texts
When to use this goal
For upper-elementary students who can answer questions about one informational text but do not use two texts together for a report or discussion. Present levels decide the text level.
- Baseline
- Pick text pairs that clearly overlap and each add something. Note whether the student treats the second text as a repeat.
- Tips
- Builds toward research and synthesis. The middle school compare template asks for analysis; this one asks for combining facts.
- Limits
- Writing load can lower scores; accept oral responses.
