Free rubric scoring data sheet

Use this sheet when a goal is measured with a rubric, such as paragraph organization, written expression, or multi-step problem solving. Each column is one rubric criterion, and the sheet totals the score for each sample.

When to use this sheet

  • Writing quality and organization
  • Multi-step problem solving
  • Performance tasks with several parts

How to use it

  1. Attach or reference the rubric's score descriptors so scoring stays consistent.
  2. Use comparable prompts and conditions for each scored sample.
  3. If two adults score, compare scores on a few samples first.

Questions

How many criteria should the rubric have?

Few enough to score reliably, usually 3 to 5, each with clear score descriptors. The builder adds one column per criterion on the sheet.
