Complete writing assignments with speech-to-text
When to use this goal
For students whose handwriting or spelling limits how much they write, who have tried speech-to-text and do well with it in trials. Present levels compare output with and without the tool.
- Baseline
- Track a month of writing assignments: completed, partly done, or missing, and with which tool. Compare length and completion with handwritten work.
- Tips
- Completion is the measure here; writing quality belongs in written expression goals. Students need a place where talking aloud is fine.
- Limits
- Dictation still needs editing skills. The AT specialist and team choose the tool from an AT assessment and trial data; the template measures what the student does with it, not the tool's quality.
