When to use this goal

For young students who need to log in and label work on a computer and cannot yet find the letters of their name or login. Present levels in letter knowledge decide fit.

Baseline
Ask the student to type their name and login three times and count correct letters. Note whether errors are finding letters or capitals.
Tips
Use a login card the student can keep. Passwords are kept private; staff can check the result without seeing the password.
Limits
Typing a memorized name is not general typing. Some schools use picture or QR logins at this age.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, at the start of computer time, given a login card with their username and a printed model of their name, the student will type their first and last name with a capital letter at the start of each independently with at least 90% accuracy on letters typed correctly, in 3 of 4 consecutive weekly probes, as measured by work-sample analysis collected weekly.
