Keep co-taught class work current each week
When to use this goal
For high school students with several co-taught courses who fall behind in one while keeping up in another, and whose work is tracked by different teachers on different platforms. Present levels and course load, not grade, decide the target.
- Baseline
- Pull three weeks of gradebook data from each co-taught course and compute the percent of assignments submitted by the end of each week. Look for one course pulling the total down.
- Tips
- The gradebook gives data with no extra collection. Co-teachers share one weekly snapshot with the case manager. The combined tracker teaches the student to see all courses at once, a needed college skill.
- Limits
- Gradebooks are sometimes updated late or mark work missing that was handed in on paper; check dates with teachers before counting. Does not measure quality or grades, and a heavy course load may call for a schedule change rather than a goal.

Goal
By the annual IEP review date, across all co-taught courses in a week, with assignments posted on the class platforms, the student will submit the week's assignments in each co-taught course by Friday independently, completing at least 90% of assigned weekly assignments across co-taught courses, across 4 consecutive weeks, as measured by work-sample analysis collected weekly.
Baseline: 55% of assigned work.

Met: Condition. Stated.
Met: Unit fits the behavior. Work completion fits this behavior.
Met: Explicit criterion. Number and unit stated.
Met: Mastery rule and schedule. Both stated.
Met: Method produces the metric. Work-sample analysis gives work completion data.
Met: Review timeframe. Stated.
Met: Baseline and target compatible. Same unit, change in the right direction.
Met: Aligned with area of need. Still about Assignment Completion.
Met: Level of support. Defined.
Met: Blanks filled in. Nothing left to fill in.

Short-term objectives (optional)
When are objectives required?Required for students on alternate assessments (34 CFR §300.320(a)(2)(ii)); some states require them for everyone.

- Record how many assigned items were completed and how many were assigned for the defined work period.
- Percent = numerator ÷ denominator × 100. Round to one decimal place.
- Record the support actually provided, even if the goal is independent performance.
