Bring the home-school folder back with the papers inside
When to use this goal
For students whose present levels show forms, notes, and homework that leave school but never return. Needs a caregiver willing to check the folder at home.
- Baseline
- Log for two weeks whether the folder came back and whether the expected papers were in it. Separate days the folder was missing from days it returned empty; those point to different breakdowns (packing versus the home check). Talk with the family about where the folder goes at home.
- Tips
- Each day a paper is sent home with a return expectation is one opportunity. Met means the folder returns the next day with that paper in the return pocket. Keep the folder in one agreed spot in the backpack and keep the same pockets all year.
- Limits
- Depends on home routines the school cannot control. Students who ride different buses or move between households need a plan for both locations. Does not measure whether the student read or acted on the papers.

- Record up to 10 opportunities per session, matching the goal's denominator.
- Define in advance what counts as an opportunity so every data collector records the same thing.
- Count only + marks toward the criterion unless the goal specifies prompted responses.
