Keep a cloud drive sorted by class
When to use this goal
For students whose school cloud drive holds dozens of untitled documents, duplicates, and files in the wrong place, so they cannot find work to revise or submit. The student should already save files (see ef-org-005). Present levels, not grade, decide how many class folders to start with.
- Baseline
- Open the drive with the student and score it with the rubric before any teaching. Count untitled files and loose files; those two numbers often show the size of the problem. Ask the student to find two recent assignments and time how long it takes.
- Tips
- Screen-share or sit side by side; the rubric takes about two minutes. Let the student choose colors or emoji in folder names if they help. Shared files from teachers often land in the main drive; teach the student to move them on the day they open them.
- Limits
- Some platforms create files automatically in set places; adjust the rubric to what the student can control. Does not measure saving habits during class; pair with ef-org-005 for that.
