Complete the locker stop within the passing period

When to use this goal

For students whose present levels show lateness that traces to long locker stops: socializing, searching, or repacking. Rule out locker location and combination problems first.

Baseline
Time the locker stop from arrival at the locker to leaving it for at least five passing periods, discreetly. Note what fills the time. If the student cannot find materials, use ef-org-011 first.
Tips
Start the clock at the locker and stop it when the student walks away toward class. Social stops at the locker count in the time; a brief greeting is fine, a conversation is not. Agree on the target with the student using the passing period length.
Limits
Crowded hallways and jammed lockers add time that is not about the student; note those stops. Does not measure arrival on time; see ef-tm-005.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, during passing periods that include a locker stop, the student will complete the locker exchange and leave for the next class independently within 75 seconds, on 4 of 5 consecutive observed locker stops, as measured by duration recording collected twice weekly.

Baseline: 210 seconds.

Measurability check11 of 11 met
  • Met: Observable behavior. Stated as an action.

  • Met: Condition. Stated.

  • Met: Unit fits the behavior. Duration fits this behavior.

  • Met: Explicit criterion. Number and unit stated.

  • Met: Mastery rule and schedule. Both stated.

  • Met: Method produces the metric. Duration recording gives duration data.

  • Met: Review timeframe. Stated.

  • Met: Baseline and target compatible. Same unit, change in the right direction.

  • Met: Aligned with area of need. Still about Time Management.

  • Met: Level of support. Defined.

  • Met: Blanks filled in. Nothing left to fill in.

Checks structure and wording only. Whether the goal fits the student is the team's call.
