Track a lunch, transit or gift card balance

6-8, 9-12Percent accuracyTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For older students who use a stored-value card (school lunch account, transit card, gift card) and run out without warning. Present levels in subtracting money amounts with a calculator decide readiness.

Baseline
Record errors by entry. Include a use that costs more than the balance left.
Tips
Real cards make it matter. A balance-check app or receipt can confirm the math.
Limits
Account access is managed with the family.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, given the student's card balance and a week of planned uses with their costs, with a calculator, the student will subtract each use, write the new balance, and say when the card needs to be reloaded independently with at least 90% accuracy on balance entries, on 3 of 4 consecutive probes, as measured by work-sample analysis collected every two weeks.

Baseline: 30% accuracy.

  • Met: Observable behavior. Stated as an action.

  • Met: Condition. Stated.

  • Met: Unit fits the behavior. Percent accuracy fits this behavior.

  • Met: Explicit criterion. Number and unit stated.

  • Met: Mastery rule and schedule. Both stated.

  • Met: Method produces the metric. Work-sample analysis gives percent accuracy data.

  • Met: Review timeframe. Stated.

  • Met: Baseline and target compatible. Same unit, change in the right direction.

  • Met: Aligned with area of need. Still about Measurement, Time & Money.

  • Met: Level of support. Defined.

  • Met: Blanks filled in. Nothing left to fill in.

Checks structure and wording only. Whether the goal fits the student is the team's call.
