Tell how many minutes early or late

9-12, 6-8OpportunitiesTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For older students preparing for jobs and appointments who can read the clock but do not figure whether they are early, on time or late, or by how much. Present levels in elapsed time in minutes decide readiness.

Baseline
Include times that cross the hour (start 9:50, arrive 10:05). Record which direction causes errors.
Tips
Pairs with job readiness goals. The what-to-do behavior links the math to a real action.
Limits
Being on time depends on more than math; this goal covers the clock reasoning.

Each planned or naturally occurring opportunity is recorded as correct/independent, prompted, or not demonstrated.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, on arrival at a class, work site or appointment, given the start time on the schedule and the current time, the student will say whether they are early, on time or late and by how many minutes independently in at least 8 of 10 opportunities, across 3 consecutive sessions, as measured by opportunity-by-opportunity data collected weekly.

Baseline: 2 of 10 opportunities.

  • Met: Observable behavior. Stated as an action.

  • Met: Condition. Stated.

  • Met: Unit fits the behavior. Opportunities fits this behavior.

  • Met: Explicit criterion. Number and unit stated.

  • Met: Mastery rule and schedule. Both stated.

  • Met: Method produces the metric. Opportunity (trial) recording gives opportunities data.

  • Met: Review timeframe. Stated.

  • Met: Baseline and target compatible. Same unit, change in the right direction.

  • Met: Aligned with area of need. Still about Measurement, Time & Money.

  • Met: Level of support. Defined.

  • Met: Blanks filled in. Nothing left to fill in.
