Walk to group time in a gait trainer

PKOpportunitiesTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For preschoolers who use a gait trainer or supported walker and are carried or pushed to the group rug, the snack table or the door. Fits when the PT has set up the trainer and the child can take steps in it, decided by sessions rather than age.

Baseline
Record five classroom moves a day for a week: walked in the trainer, pushed, or carried. Time a few walks; if a move takes much longer than the class, start with shorter distances or leave a little early.
Tips
Walking with peers in the gait trainer gives many short practice chances a day and lets the child arrive with the group. Leave a minute early rather than carrying the child to save time.
Limits
Time in the trainer is set by the PT; rest and seating breaks follow the plan. Counts arrivals, not walking quality.
