Picture-supported job site rules questions

When to use this goal

For high school students with significant support needs in work-based learning who need to show they understand a site's rules sheet (where to put belongings, break times, who to ask for help). The sheet uses short sentences with photos. Present levels decide the response mode.

Baseline
Work with the job coach to write the sheet and questions. Record the response mode.
Tips
Supports independence at work. Safety rules need their own direct instruction and plan.
Limits
Answering questions is not the same as following the rules on the job; observe both.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, given the job site's picture-supported rules sheet and 6 questions, the student will answer each question by saying, signing, pointing to the photo, or selecting on a device independently with at least 85% accuracy on rules sheet questions, across 3 consecutive work sessions, as measured by opportunity-by-opportunity data collected weekly.

Baseline: 35% accuracy.

  • Met: Observable behavior. Stated as an action.

  • Met: Condition. Stated.

  • Met: Unit fits the behavior. Percent accuracy fits this behavior.

  • Met: Explicit criterion. Number and unit stated.

  • Met: Mastery rule and schedule. Both stated.

  • Met: Method produces the metric. Opportunity (trial) recording gives percent accuracy data.

Checks structure and wording only. Whether the goal fits the student is the team's call.
