Add a sound inside a word

3-5OpportunitiesTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For students who add sounds at the start and end of words but not inside a word (add /n/ after /s/ in sap to make snap). Inner sounds are the ones most often left out in spelling. Present levels decide fit.

Baseline
Probe after-first-sound and before-last-sound items separately. Note whether the student adds the sound in the wrong place.
Tips
Pairs with spelling blends. Tiles make the position visible.
Limits
Answers are often real words, which can be guessed; include made-up results.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, given a spoken one-syllable word and the direction to add a named sound after the first sound, the student will say the new word independently in at least 8 of 10 opportunities, across 3 consecutive sessions, as measured by opportunity-by-opportunity data collected weekly.

Baseline: 2 of 10 opportunities.
