Name two points of view in a disagreement

3-5, 6-8Percent accuracyTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For students who can say what they want in a disagreement but not what the other person wants or why. Present levels decide fit. This is the understanding step; solving the conflict belongs in conflict-resolution.

Baseline
Use 10 scenarios and score correct when both views and reasons are given. Record one-sided answers separately.
Tips
Real disagreements are reviewed only once the student is settled. Naming the other view does not mean agreeing with it; say so to the student.
Limits
Scenario work does not guarantee the student will use it in the moment. The goal does not measure solving the problem.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, given 10 short written or video scenarios of a disagreement between two students, the student will state what each person wants and one reason each person has independently with at least 80% accuracy on disagreement scenarios, in 3 of 4 consecutive weekly probes, as measured by work-sample analysis collected weekly.

  • Met: Observable behavior. Stated as an action.

  • Met: Condition. Stated.

  • Met: Unit fits the behavior. Percent accuracy fits this behavior.

  • Met: Explicit criterion. Number and unit stated.

  • Met: Mastery rule and schedule. Both stated.

  • Met: Method produces the metric. Work-sample analysis gives percent accuracy data.

  • Met: Review timeframe. Stated.

  • Met: Baseline and target compatible. Same unit, change in the right direction.

  • Met: Aligned with area of need. Still about Social Awareness & Perspective Taking.

  • Met: Level of support. Defined.

  • Met: Blanks filled in. Nothing left to fill in.
