Predict how different people will see a situation

When to use this goal

For students who can take one other person's view but not hold several at once (a teacher, a parent, a friend, a coach). Present levels decide fit.

Baseline
Use 10 scenarios and score correct only when all 3 views are fitting and have reasons.
Tips
Use roles the student knows. Discuss that people in the same role can disagree.
Limits
Scenario reasoning may not show up in the moment. Avoid scenarios that ask the student to judge their own family.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, given 10 short scenarios involving 3 people with different roles (such as a student, a teacher, and a parent), the student will say how each of the 3 people will likely see the situation and why independently with at least 75% accuracy on multi-person scenarios, in 3 of 4 consecutive weekly probes, as measured by work-sample analysis collected weekly.

Baseline: 30% accuracy.

Measurability check11 of 11 met
  • Met: Observable behavior. Stated as an action.

  • Met: Condition. Stated.

  • Met: Unit fits the behavior. Percent accuracy fits this behavior.

  • Met: Explicit criterion. Number and unit stated.

  • Met: Mastery rule and schedule. Both stated.

  • Met: Method produces the metric. Work-sample analysis gives percent accuracy data.

  • Met: Review timeframe. Stated.

  • Met: Baseline and target compatible. Same unit, change in the right direction.

  • Met: Aligned with area of need. Still about Social Awareness & Perspective Taking.

  • Met: Level of support. Defined.

  • Met: Blanks filled in. Nothing left to fill in.

Checks structure and wording only. Whether the goal fits the student is the team's call.
