Report a conflict to an adult with who, what, and what they did
When to use this goal
For students whose accounts of conflicts leave out their own part, name only the other person, or are too vague for adults to act on. Base the choice on samples of recent reports. Reports can be spoken, written, or given on a device.
- Baseline
- Score the student's next 2 or 3 conflict reports (or debriefs) on the rubric. Add 2 scenario probes to separate language skills from willingness to report their own part. Note which rows are consistently low.
- Tips
- Score each row 0 (absent), 1 (partial or vague), or 2 (specific). Row 3 scores honesty about the student's own actions, including "nothing" when that is true; adults should respond to honesty with support, not punishment, or this row will stay low. Debriefs happen only after the student is calm. Scenario probes keep data flowing between real conflicts.
- Limits
- Real reports are irregular and depend on the student choosing to report (see se-sa-014). Rubric scores can be deflated by expressive language needs; use frames and the SLP's input. Accuracy cannot be fully verified; the rubric scores completeness and specificity, not truth.
