Warm up the voice before a performance

6-8, 9-12Task-analysis stepsTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For students on a voice plan who act, sing, or present in performances and skip warming up. Base the choice on the voice plan. Warm-up steps come from the SLP's plan and the performing arts teacher.

Baseline
Watch the student before two rehearsals and record which steps they do. Adjust steps to match the voice plan.
Tips
Score each step as independent, prompted, or not done. Replace steps with ones from the student's own plan. Directors can build the routine into whole-cast warm-ups.
Limits
Warm-ups support voice care but do not replace rest and medical follow-up. Rehearsal schedules vary.
