Choose courses for a first college term
When to use this goal
For admitted or dual enrollment students who need to pick courses and are likely to take too many or the wrong ones. Present levels in reading program requirements decide supports; an advisor is part of the real process.
- Baseline
- Score one plan using a sample program map. Note whether the student over-loads; a lighter first term is often wiser and should score full credit when reasoned.
- Tips
- The college advisor approves the real schedule; this goal prepares the student to come to that meeting with a plan. Include tutoring and accessibility services time in the weekly plan (tn-pse-011).
- Limits
- Course availability changes at registration. The rubric does not cover the registration system itself.
