Remain in scheduled classes for the full period

When to use this goal

For high school students who are at school but skip some classes or leave partway through (to the halls, the library, off campus). Base the choice on period records and the student's account. Find out which classes and why before writing the goal.

Baseline
Pull period attendance for four weeks and map which classes are missed. Ask the student what happens in those classes. Before writing the goal, find out why school is being missed (anxiety, a hard class, peer problems, health, sleep, caregiving, transport) with the student and family, and build the support plan around that reason.
Tips
Count each scheduled class as met when the student was there for the full period, counting planned breaks. Adjust the hardest class (supports, seat, schedule) as part of the plan.
Limits
Being present does not show learning; pair with work goals. Leaving campus raises safety issues for the team's plan.
