Meet the class expectations on a daily behavior report card
When to use this goal
For students on a daily report card or check-in/check-out system where each period is rated on a few posted expectations. Scores the day as a rubric. Base the choice on the card's first 2 weeks. Edit the rows to the school's expectations.
- Baseline
- Run the card for 2 weeks with no goal attached and average the daily scores. Check that every teacher rates with the same rules (the anchors in the rubric) by comparing two teachers' ratings of the same period at the start. Low scores concentrated in one row point to a more specific goal from this skill.
- Tips
- The card is also the intervention: review it in the morning, rate it each period, and send it home. Keep rows to 3 or 4 and define the anchors so a rating of 1 means the same thing in every room. Average across rated periods so a missed rating does not sink the day. Students should see and discuss their scores.
- Limits
- Rubric averages hide which period or expectation is the problem; keep the per-period data. Ratings are teacher judgments and drift over time; recheck agreement each quarter.
