Take a turn with the meeting talking object

PK, K-2OpportunitiesTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For preschool and kindergarten students who grab the talking object, talk during others' turns, or refuse to pass it, and who can share one idea in any mode. Fit depends on observation of group meetings and communication present levels, not age.

Baseline
Watch five meetings and score the student's turn each day (waited, shared, passed) and whether they grabbed the object during others' turns. If waiting through a large group is too long, start in a small group of three or four.
Tips
Let the student hold a fidget or a second small object while waiting if that helps. Sharing can be a picture choice or a sign; the goal is the turn routine, not speech. Keep turns short so waits are short.
Limits
Group size changes waiting time a lot; record it. Not a language goal; if the student has nothing to share, the SLP may add picture choices.
