Finish the agreed part after a counteroffer

3-5, 6-8OpportunitiesTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For students who can make a counteroffer but then stop before finishing the agreed part, which makes adults stop accepting offers. Fit depends on data about follow-through, not grade. Pair with bh-rep-043.

Baseline
Record each accepted counteroffer for two weeks: finished, finished after reminders, or stopped early. If offers are too big for the student to finish, coach smaller offers first.
Tips
Circle the agreed items so the end is visible. Let the student stop right away when the part is done; keeping the deal on both sides is the point. Graph offers made and offers kept together.
Limits
Depends on counteroffers being made; few offers mean few data points. Does not measure work accuracy.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, after the adult accepts the student's counteroffer during independent work, the student will complete the agreed number of items or section and then show the adult before stopping independently in 5 of 5 opportunities, across 3 consecutive weekly data summaries, as measured by opportunity-by-opportunity data collected each accepted counteroffer, summarized weekly.

Baseline: 2 of 5 opportunities.

  • Met: Observable behavior. Stated as an action.

  • Met: Condition. Stated.

  • Met: Unit fits the behavior. Opportunities fits this behavior.

  • Met: Explicit criterion. Number and unit stated.

  • Met: Mastery rule and schedule. Both stated.

  • Met: Method produces the metric. Opportunity (trial) recording gives opportunities data.

  • Met: Review timeframe. Stated.

  • Met: Baseline and target compatible. Same unit, change in the right direction.

  • Met: Aligned with area of need. Still about Replacement Behaviors.

  • Met: Level of support. Defined.

  • Met: Blanks filled in. Nothing left to fill in.

Checks structure and wording only. Whether the goal fits the student is the team's call.
