Find and open a named learning app
When to use this goal
For young students who tap around the home screen until something opens, or need an adult to start every activity. Present levels in matching icons to pictures or words decide fit.
- Baseline
- Score each direction correct if the student opens the right app and gets back to home without help. Note whether icons are on the first screen or in folders.
- Tips
- Keep icons in the same place on the student's device while learning. Words under icons support early reading. Once solid, move to finding the class page on the learning platform.
- Limits
- Five directions is a small probe. App layouts change with updates; recheck after any change.

- Score only items the student attempted unless the goal defines a fixed set of items. Use the same denominator every session.
- Percent = numerator ÷ denominator × 100. Round to one decimal place.
- Record the support actually provided, even if the goal is independent performance.
