Cite a web source with its key parts
When to use this goal
For students who paste only a URL as a source or leave sources out of projects. Present levels in finding the author and date on a page decide fit.
- Baseline
- Score each part of each citation (20 parts for 4 sources). Parts the page truly lacks count as correct if the student writes no date or no author as the style requires.
- Tips
- Use the citation style the class uses. Citation generators are fine if the student checks that each part is right. Links to judging sources: a page with no author or date is a warning sign.
- Limits
- Format details (italics, order) are not scored here. Some sites make parts hard to find.

- Score only items the student attempted unless the goal defines a fixed set of items. Use the same denominator every session.
- Percent = numerator ÷ denominator × 100. Round to one decimal place.
- Record the support actually provided, even if the goal is independent performance.
