Sign out of shared computers before leaving
When to use this goal
For older students who use library, lab or job-site computers and walk away signed in to email or accounts. Present levels in logging out of a school device (ca-dig-001) show readiness.
- Baseline
- After the student leaves, check whether email, school and other accounts are signed out and the browser is closed. Count the opportunity only when every account is signed out.
- Tips
- Account safety on shared computers protects the student's money and identity later. Library visits in transition programs make good practice. Private or incognito windows help but do not replace signing out.
- Limits
- Staff must check the computer right after the student leaves. Some kiosks sign out automatically, which removes the opportunity.

- Record up to 5 opportunities per session, matching the goal's denominator.
- Define in advance what counts as an opportunity so every data collector records the same thing.
- Count only + marks toward the criterion unless the goal specifies prompted responses.
