Order first aid steps for a scraped knee
When to use this goal
For upper elementary students in health lessons who cannot say what to do for a small scrape or who would hide an injury. Present levels, not grade, decide fit. Steps follow the school nurse's guidance.
- Baseline
- Run the card sequence twice and note which steps are missed, often telling an adult or washing hands.
- Tips
- Score each card in the right place as one item. Include telling an adult as a step. Acting out cleaning and covering a cut belongs to the health self-management skill.
- Limits
- Ordering cards does not mean the student can do the steps. Not medical advice; follow the nurse.

- Score only items the student attempted unless the goal defines a fixed set of items. Use the same denominator every session.
- Percent = numerator ÷ denominator × 100. Round to one decimal place.
- Record the support actually provided, even if the goal is independent performance.
