Check the online gradebook weekly and record missing work
When to use this goal
For students who do not know their grades or missing assignments until a report card arrives. Fits schools with an online gradebook students can access.
- Baseline
- Have the student do one check without help and score each step. Ask the student to guess their grades before logging in; the gap between guess and reality shows why this goal matters.
- Tips
- Score a step independent when done without adult direction. Keep the form the same every week so the data compare. Pair with ef-ac-016 to see whether missing-work counts fall as checks become routine.
- Limits
- Depends on the gradebook being current; stale gradebooks teach students not to check. Does not ensure the plan in step 4 is followed.
