Finish lunch within the lunch period
When to use this goal
For students who talk, wander, or eat slowly and leave lunch hungry or late for class. Rule out feeding or swallowing needs first; those go to the OT, SLP, or nurse. Present levels, not grade, decide the target.
- Baseline
- Time from sitting down with lunch to tray cleaned up for five days. Note talking, waiting in line, and how much is eaten.
- Tips
- The goal is pace, not eating more. Social time matters too; allow chatting. Line time often eats up the period; arrange early release if needed.
- Limits
- Not for students with feeding or swallowing plans; follow those instead. Food choices vary daily.
