Change for PE within the locker room time
When to use this goal
For middle school students who are late to PE warm-up or late to the next class because changing takes too long. Present levels and motor needs, not grade, decide the target.
- Baseline
- Time changing from entering the locker room to leaving it for five PE classes. Check with the OT for motor issues with fasteners, shoelaces, or locks before setting a target.
- Tips
- Privacy matters: staff time from outside the changing area, following the school's supervision rules. Easy-on clothing and a lock that is practiced at home both help. The PE teacher can record times on the class roster.
- Limits
- Motor needs may call for OT input and accommodations rather than a time goal. Crowded locker rooms change the time; note busy days.
