Fill a weekly pill organizer from a list

9-12Percent accuracyTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For high school and transition students who will manage daily medication at home and whose family wants them to fill a weekly organizer under supervision. Base the choice on family wishes and the health provider's guidance. A family member or nurse checks every organizer before use.

Baseline
Start with practice fills using look-alike tablets that are not medicine, scored compartment by compartment. Move to real fills only when the family and nurse agree, always with an adult check.
Tips
Every compartment must be right; an adult checks every fill before any dose is taken. Use the pharmacy's printed list as the source. Teach the student to stop and ask when a pill looks different.
Limits
Not for students or medications where the provider or family says an adult fills organizers. Accuracy at practice does not replace the adult check. This goal never replaces the individualized health plan, medication orders, or an emergency action plan; the nurse, the family, and the student's health care provider decide care, and the goal follows their plan.
