Put three routine pictures in order

PK, K-2Percent accuracyTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For preschoolers who follow daily routines and are ready to show what comes first, next, and last. Present levels in attending to pictures and in following a picture schedule decide fit; routines the student does every day come first.

Baseline
Use 5 sequences and score each as correct only if all three pictures are in order. Photos of the student's own routines are easiest.
Tips
Act out the routine first, then sequence the photos. Sequencing builds toward retelling and following schedules. Use the student's language for first, next, last.
Limits
Chance of a correct order by guessing is one in six for three pictures; look at the pattern over several probes.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, given three photos of a familiar routine (handwashing, snack, getting dressed) in mixed order, the student will put the three pictures in order from left to right independently with at least 80% accuracy on picture sequences, in 3 of 4 consecutive weekly probes, as measured by opportunity-by-opportunity data collected weekly.

Baseline: 20% accuracy.

  • Met: Observable behavior. Stated as an action.

  • Met: Condition. Stated.

  • Met: Unit fits the behavior. Percent accuracy fits this behavior.

  • Met: Explicit criterion. Number and unit stated.

  • Met: Mastery rule and schedule. Both stated.

  • Met: Method produces the metric. Opportunity (trial) recording gives percent accuracy data.

  • Met: Review timeframe. Stated.

  • Met: Baseline and target compatible. Same unit, change in the right direction.

  • Met: Aligned with area of need. Still about Preschool & Kindergarten Readiness.

  • Met: Level of support. Defined.

  • Met: Blanks filled in. Nothing left to fill in.

Checks structure and wording only. Whether the goal fits the student is the team's call.
