Bring completed homework back to school

When to use this goal

For students who do the homework at home (the family confirms it) but it never arrives, or arrives crumpled in the bottom of the bag. If the homework is not being done, use an assignment-completion goal instead. Base the choice on family report.

Baseline
Track 2 weeks of due dates with a simple log: assigned, completed at home (family initials), returned, turned in. The log shows where the breakdown is; this goal targets the return and turn-in steps only.
Tips
A two-pocket folder labeled keep at home and return to school reduces sorting errors. The family's part is placing finished work in the folder; the student's part is carrying it and turning it in. Share the weekly log with the family.
Limits
Relies on family participation and consistent homework assignment. Does not measure homework quality. Weeks with no homework give no opportunities; use the five most recent due dates.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, on the day a homework assignment is due, with the completed work placed in the homework folder at home, the student will bring the completed homework to school and turn it in on the due date independently in at least 4 of 5 opportunities, for 3 consecutive weeks, as measured by direct observation collected weekly, across the five most recent due dates.
