File documents in alphabetical or number order

9-12Percent accuracyTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For students in office placements who can alphabetize single words but not file real folders by last name or number. Present levels in alphabetizing and reading names decide whether an alphabet strip is used.

Baseline
Use 20 practice documents with known places. Note whether errors come from names with the same first letter or from number order.
Tips
Use practice folders with fictional names for training; real records are filed only when the office allows and privacy rules are followed. Digital filing can be a later step.
Limits
Many offices file digitally. Accuracy on practice folders may not reflect a busy real drawer.
