Share a job with a coworker

9-12, 6-8OpportunitiesTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For students who work well alone but take over, stop or drift when a job is shared with a coworker or peer. Present levels in communication decide whether a split-the-job card is used.

Baseline
Observe 5 shared jobs. Count a job when the student agreed on parts, did own part and checked in at the end.
Tips
Brief the coworker first. Shared jobs are common in real work and build natural supports (fn-voc-053).
Limits
Coworkers differ in how they share; note who it was. Social skills in break time are not covered.

Original IEP Atlas template based on general measurement principles; not copied from any goal bank. ID fn-voc-060.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, during a two-person job, such as unloading a delivery, setting up a room or folding laundry, the student will agree with the coworker on who does which part, do own part and check in when finished independently in at least 4 of 5 opportunities, across 3 consecutive data collection periods, as measured by direct observation collected at each shared job, summarized every two weeks.

Baseline: 1 of 5 opportunities.

  • Condition
  • Observable behavior
  • Criterion
  • Measurement method

  • Met: Observable behavior. Stated as an action.

  • Met: Condition. Stated.

  • Met: Unit fits the behavior. Opportunities fits this behavior.

  • Met: Explicit criterion. Number and unit stated.

  • Met: Mastery rule and schedule. Both stated.

  • Met: Method produces the metric. Direct observation gives opportunities data.

  • Met: Review timeframe. Stated.

  • Met: Baseline and target compatible. Same unit, change in the right direction.

  • Met: Aligned with area of need. Still about Vocational & Work Readiness.

  • Met: Level of support. Defined.

  • Met: Blanks filled in. Nothing left to fill in.

Checks structure and wording only. Whether the goal fits the student is the team's call.
