When to use this goal

For older students who read a temperature but do not use it to make daily choices, such as wearing a coat. Present levels in reading temperatures and comparing numbers decide readiness.

Baseline
An opportunity is one day. Score the reading and the choice. Use the student's own chart; preferences vary.
Tips
Pair with daily living goals for dressing. Families can track the same routine at home.
Limits
Clothing choices are personal and cultural; the chart is built with the student and family.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, during the morning routine, given the day's forecast high and low on a weather app or screen, the student will read the high and low, compare them to the clothing chart, and choose what to wear or bring independently in at least 4 of 5 opportunities, on 4 of 5 consecutive school days, as measured by direct observation collected daily during the morning routine.

Baseline: 2 of 5 opportunities.
