Do a standing long jump with arm swing

3-5, K-2Rubric scoreTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For students who jump forward without using their arms, take off from one foot, or fall on landing, which limits PE games and fitness testing. Fit depends on scoring the jump, not grade.

Baseline
Score two jumps and record the distance too, to see whether better form brings longer jumps. Use a mat for landing.
Tips
Arm swing is the part most students skip; teach it on its own first. This builds on mt-gm-008 (jumping with two feet).
Limits
Distance is not scored by the rubric; record it separately if useful.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, when jumping forward from a taped line on a mat, the student will jump forward from both feet using a full arm swing and land on both feet with balance independently, earning a score of at least 7 out of 8 on a 4-part standing jump rubric scored on 2 trials (0 or 1 per part per trial), on 3 consecutive monthly scorings, as measured by a defined scoring rubric collected monthly.
