Land boccia balls close to the jack
When to use this goal
For students with limited arm or trunk control who can play boccia by throwing, rolling, kicking, or using a ramp, and whose balls land far from the target ball (the jack). Fit depends on a game trial, not grade.
- Baseline
- Measure each ball's distance from the jack over two games. Record how the ball was sent. A partner who follows the student's aim directions is a recognized adaptation.
- Tips
- Boccia is a Paralympic sport and fits many motor profiles. The student makes the decisions even when a partner moves the ramp.
- Limits
- Floor surface changes roll; keep the gym the same for probes.

- Record up to 6 opportunities per session, matching the goal's denominator.
- Define in advance what counts as an opportunity so every data collector records the same thing.
- Count only + marks toward the criterion unless the goal specifies prompted responses.
