Check in at a community gym and prepare

When to use this goal

For transition-age students who want to use a community gym, recreation center, or YMCA but need the arrival routine (check-in, locker, water bottle, finding the workout area). Fit depends on community instruction data and family goals, not grade.

Baseline
Score the steps at a practice run in the school fitness room and at one community visit. Note locker type (key, combination, code).
Tips
Link to the family's actual gym when possible so the routine carries into adult life. Pair with mt-pe-040 for using machines.
Limits
Requires access and often a membership; the transition team can explore reduced-cost options.

Original IEP Atlas template based on general measurement principles; not copied from any goal bank. ID mt-pe-039.
