Hold a plank with a straight body
When to use this goal
For students with weak core strength who sag, pike, or drop within seconds when holding a plank, which also shows up in sitting posture and endurance. Fit depends on timed trials, not grade.
- Baseline
- Time two trials, stopping when the form breaks, and use the best. Record the plank type; knee and bench planks are easier.
- Tips
- Stop timing when form breaks; that keeps the measure honest and safe. Pair with curl-ups (mt-pe-003) for core work.
- Limits
- Not for students with shoulder or back restrictions without PT input.
