Join group time with a movement seat
When to use this goal
For preschoolers who leave group time after a minute or two because they need to move, and who do better with a movement seat (a cushion, a peanut ball or a rocking chair). Present levels decide fit; leaving and returning is allowed.
- Baseline
- Time three group times with and without a movement seat, and note when the child leaves. Group times that run long for every child should be shortened first.
- Tips
- Movement while listening is fine. Joining in their own way includes listening from the edge, moving to songs or holding the book.
- Limits
- The goal is not about sitting still. Group time length should match the age of the children.
