Action words on a job task list

9-12Percent accuracyTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For high school students in work-based learning who follow picture task lists and are ready to read the action words themselves (fold, stack, wipe, sort, restock, label, count). Present levels decide the word set; use the student's real job tasks.

Baseline
Probe the words without photos first. Score reading and matching to the task together. Ask the job coach or supervisor for the words used at the site.
Tips
Reading the list builds independence from the job coach. Pair with a vocational goal for doing the tasks.
Limits
Task words differ by job; the set changes when the placement changes. Doing the task is measured elsewhere.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, given a printed task list for the student's work-based learning job with 8 action words, the student will read each action word aloud or with their device and show or name the task it means independently with at least 90% accuracy on job task action words read and matched to the task, across 3 consecutive work sessions, as measured by opportunity-by-opportunity data collected weekly.

Baseline: 35% accuracy.

Measurability check11 of 11 met
  • Met: Observable behavior. Stated as an action.

  • Met: Condition. Stated.

  • Met: Unit fits the behavior. Percent accuracy fits this behavior.

  • Met: Explicit criterion. Number and unit stated.

  • Met: Mastery rule and schedule. Both stated.

  • Met: Method produces the metric. Opportunity (trial) recording gives percent accuracy data.

  • Met: Review timeframe. Stated.

  • Met: Baseline and target compatible. Same unit, change in the right direction.

  • Met: Aligned with area of need. Still about Sight Word Recognition.

  • Met: Level of support. Defined.

  • Met: Blanks filled in. Nothing left to fill in.

Checks structure and wording only. Whether the goal fits the student is the team's call.

Short-term objectives (optional)
