Invite a peer who is alone to join in

3-5, 6-8OpportunitiesTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For students with steady peer skills who are ready to take a leading role, or whose goals include being a welcoming member of the class. Present levels decide fit. Invitations can be spoken, signed, written, or typed.

Baseline
Over two weeks, note moments when a peer was alone near the student during recess or lunch and what the student did. Ask the student whether they notice peers who are alone and how they would invite them.
Tips
An opportunity is a peer alone within the student's area. Score correct when the student offers an invitation, whether or not the peer accepts. A peer who prefers to be alone and says no is fine; the student's polite invite still counts.
Limits
Opportunities are uneven week to week. The goal measures the invitation, not the peer's response or ongoing friendship.
