Decide what personal information is safe online

When to use this goal

For students who post or send their full name, school, phone number, where they live, or location to people they do not know. Present levels decide fit. The rule: private details go only to people in your close circles, and never to someone you have only met online.

Baseline
Use 12 realistic requests from apps and games the student uses. Score each decision and reason. Note what the student already shares.
Tips
Use the student's real platforms with permission. Teach that it is never too late to tell a trusted adult about something already shared. Coordinate with digital-literacy goals for privacy settings.
Limits
Sorting samples does not show what the student does online. The IEP goal does not replace family supervision or platform safety tools.

Original IEP Atlas template based on general measurement principles; not copied from any goal bank. ID se-rb-009.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, given 12 sample messages, profiles, or game chats asking for different kinds of information, from known friends and from people met only online, the student will say whether the information is safe to share with that person and give a reason independently with 100% accuracy on online information requests, in 3 of 4 consecutive weekly probes, as measured by opportunity-by-opportunity data collected weekly.
