Name a personal best from their own log

When to use this goal

For high school students who measure themselves only against peers and overlook their own records in fitness, reading, work output, or a skill they practice. Present levels decide fit, not grade. Use a log the student already keeps or helps keep.

Baseline
In 5 check-ins, ask the student to find their best or most recent gain and record what they say. Note whether they compare themselves with others instead. Score only what the student says, writes, signs, or does; never use a self-esteem rating or a mood scale as the criterion.
Tips
Pick a log that matters to the student. The goal is the habit of comparing with their own past, so never post logs where peers can compare them.
Limits
Measures reading their own log on request, not unprompted self-talk. If the log shows no gains, change the instruction before using this goal.
