Signal for the stop in the travel plan
When to use this goal
For middle school students who ride a known bus route with staff but rely on staff to know when to get off. Uses landmarks, announcements, or a map app; present levels decide fit, not grade.
- Baseline
- Record 6 rides. Score correct when the student signals between the landmark and the stop without a prompt.
- Tips
- Choose landmarks that do not change (a big store, a park), not parked trucks. Phone alerts for the stop are a fair tool.
- Limits
- Solo travel is a team and family decision based on data, the travel plan, and the student's safety skills; this goal does not decide it. Street crossing and stranger responses are covered by community-safety goals.

- Record up to 6 opportunities per session, matching the goal's denominator.
- Define in advance what counts as an opportunity so every data collector records the same thing.
- Count only + marks toward the criterion unless the goal specifies prompted responses.
