Answer a cashier's questions at checkout

When to use this goal

For middle school students who pay at a register but freeze or look to an adult when the cashier asks a question (bag, receipt, rewards number, cash back). Answers can be spoken, signed, or shown on a card; present levels decide the mode, not grade.

Baseline
Count each cashier question as one opportunity across 2 or 3 trips. Score correct when the student answers within a few seconds without the adult stepping in.
Tips
Teach no as a fine answer to rewards or donation questions. Self-checkout avoids questions but the skill matters at pharmacies and banks.
Limits
Questions vary by store; collect them from the stores the student uses.
