Choose a CTE program using exploration results

When to use this goal

For students choosing a career and technical education program, pathway or vocational class for the coming year. Present levels in reading and decision making decide whether program information is given in plain language.

Baseline
Score a practice sheet before course selection opens. Note when the reason is only that a friend chose it; that is a common first answer.
Tips
Visit program classrooms before choosing when possible. The team checks access and supports for the program; the choice itself is the student's. Link the choice to the course of study in the transition plan.
Limits
Few real choices per year. Program availability and seats may limit the outcome.
