Renew library items before the due date

9-12OpportunitiesTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For students with a library card who keep items past the due date or return them unfinished because they never renew. Present levels in using an app or phone and in tracking dates, not grade, decide fit.

Baseline
For a month or two, log each due date and whether the item was renewed, returned or late. Ask the family how the student handles due dates at home.
Tips
Count each due date as one opportunity. Teach what to do when an item cannot be renewed because someone else has a hold. Pair with returning items on time.
Limits
Some libraries renew items automatically; check before choosing this goal. Does not cover fines or fees, which belong in personal finance.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, when a borrowed library item is due within three days, using the library app, website or phone line, the student will check the due date, renew the item before it is due and note the new date in their calendar independently in at least 4 of 5 opportunities, across 3 consecutive monthly reviews, as measured by frequency recording collected at each due date.

Baseline: 1 of 5 opportunities.
