Write a cover email for a job

9-12Rubric scoreTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For students applying to jobs that ask for an email or a short cover letter. Present levels in written expression and email use decide whether a frame is used.

Baseline
Score the first email written without a frame. Students often write one line or paste the resume; note which rows score 0.
Tips
Send real emails only with the student's agreement and from the approved email account. Save each email as a model for the next one.
Limits
Many entry-level jobs do not use cover emails; check that the skill is needed. Scores the writing, not the outcome.
